Burris TMPR 5 5x32mm Prism Sight Ballistic AR Illum. Black with QD Base
Burris Optics T.M.P.R. 5 Overview
Versatile and highly customizable, the Burris Optics TMPR 5 5x32 Prism Sight is the primary component in a modular system that allows you to mount an optional reflex dot sight and laser to add functionality to your kit without taking up additional rail space. Mounting points on the sight's housing feature integrated power connector points so your additional accessories can get their power from the sight and reduce weight or the need to carry different size batteries in the field.
Optically the relatively low magnification makes the TMPR ideal for mid-range use as well as perfect for stacking with other optics, such as night vision scopes, and use as a magnifier for long-range shooting applications. The sight is outfitted with a partially illuminated reticle: the center horseshoe-dot can be set in one of three different colors with seven brightness levels per color. The rest of the ranging stadia lines and hash marks are non-illuminated and aid in hold-over/under and calculating ballistic drop. When the sight's illumination is turned off the horseshoe and dot revert to black, so the sight is fully functional without illumination.
For easy mounting and repeatable reinstallation, the sight is outfitted with a dual throw-lever quick release Picatinny/Weaver rail mount. The mount places the centerline of the sight at 1.53" above the rail. To withstand the rigors of the trail the housing is nitrogen filled and sealed to be waterproof to 3.3' and resistant to internal fogging when moving through extreme changes in environmental conditions or temperatures.
Optical Performance
- Customizable with optional accessories like a dot sight and laser
- 5x power is ideal for medium-range use without sacrificing field of view or situational awareness
- 32mm objective lens maintains a compact form factor to reduce weight and snag hazards
- 24' field of view at 100 yards
Reticle Details
- Ballistic AR design is optimized for 5.56 NATO and .223 rounds
- Partially illuminated for use without a battery in case of failure
- Choose reticle color from red, blue, or green options based on preference or situation
- Center illuminated horseshoe with center dot enables easy acquisition of both large and small targets
- Illuminated portion reverts to black for full reticle functionality when power is off
- Non-illuminated hash marks and stadia lines on the horizontal and lower vertical axes for elevation and windage adjustment and precise shot placement at distance
- Seven illumination levels for each color, including two that are night vision device (NVD) compatible
- NVD-compatible reticle allows its use as a magnifier for NVD scopes for long-range use at night
- Reticle colors:
- Red: Common and familiar reticle color is easy to see in bright daylight
- Green: Stands out in the dark or at dawn and dusk for easy visibility in challenging conditions
- Blue: Atypical color is an ideal choice for color-blind users who have difficulty seeing red and green
Use and Handling
- Mounting rails with integrated power connector points allow optional components to be easily mounted to, and powered by, the primary sight
- 1/4 MOA impact point correction puts users on-target with ease
- 50 MOA windage and elevation adjustment range enables use at longer distances
- Parallax fixed at 100 yards
- 2.2" eye relief provides a large eye box for optimal placement on the rail
- Wide 6.4mm exit pupil enables easy use in all light conditions, even in the dark when pupils are open and fully dilated
